National Park Travelers Club

This club is all about visiting and tracking units of the National Park System. With hundreds of locations across the country—not just national parks—it turns exploring into a long-term adventure goal.

You can log your visits, earn awards, and connect with a community of fellow park lovers. It’s also a great motivator to visit places you might not have otherwise considered. My favorite example of this is Weir Farm National Historical Park in Wilton, Connecticut. We were on a 10-day anniversary road trip when we passed through the area. Initially, we had no intention of stopping since I didn’t know anything about the history and wasn’t particularly interested. But I couldn’t leave a stamp behind, so we stopped—and I’m so glad we did. It’s a beautiful place, and the history turned out to be pretty fascinating.

Are you familiar with “This Is the Place” in Salt Lake City, Utah? Weir Farm is where Mahonri Young created the monument located there. We lived in Salt Lake City for three years, so this historical tidbit really stood out to us.

I highly recommend the paid membership ($10 for your first year, $5 each year after). It gives you access to the master database, where you can find available stamps for each location. The club also hosts an annual convention, along with regional and member-initiated meetups—making it a great way to connect with others who share the same passion.

For us, it adds a little extra excitement to every trip—because every stop counts toward something bigger.

Are you tracking your park visits yet? Let me know how many units you’ve explored—I’d love to hear your count!
